Sock Garters

Here at The Shooting Sock Company, we have over 150 shooting sock garters; some are monochrome, and these tend to be easier to complement with a wide variety of shooting sock colours. We also use plain coloured garters if we are trying to coordinate with a tweed – they can be used perfectly to accentuate a subtle colour in a shooting suit. Our dual-tone and tri-colour garters offer a little more grandeur and they really finish an outfit off. We recommend a contrasting colour to the sock and using the fringe to tie in with the sock and a sweater if possible.

A shooting sock garter is a dual-purpose addition to your outfit. Traditionally, the sock garter tie was used to hold your socks up and prevent them from slipping down on your day shooting; with modern knitting techniques and yarns, this can be prevented; however, some still use them for this purpose. The second reason for the garter tie is to add extra flamboyance to your outfit and complete the look.

Our elastic garters for socks are a quick and easy way to keep your socks in place all day effectively – these are hand-made locally for us and are always a popular addition to a Christmas stocking! The garters are made from heavy-duty elastics and are adjustable to ensure a comfortable fit.

Many of our shooting socks come with the option of a garter - it never ceases to amaze us how adding a different garter to a shooting sock can completely change the sock's appearance.
